Mumbar

The city is one of the largest trading ports in all of Kelborn. The city is a maze of streets and alleys. Street vendors lined the street and people were packed tightly together to squeeze through. The party was constantly assaulted by people trying to sell them something or steal from them.

The party inquired about the ship they were held captive on, but there was no sign of the captain or crew of the ship. People joked that if the party wanted to know about the dealings of slavers and thugs they should talk to the governor of Mumbar. The party also heard rumors that there was a recent series of tremors that rocked the city and had everyone on edge. Mumbar had never been geologically active in living memory. Many in the town took it as a bad omen. There was even rumors of a cave that opened up outside of town. Animals in the forest near the caves were rumored to have fled. People and livestock in farms near the cave had started dying mysteriously. People who investigated the caves were never heard from again. Even the Governor’s men were said not to have returned from their expedition to it.

The party visited the mayor and confirmed that the stories of the cave were true. He offered to reward the party handsomely if they slay whatever inhabited the caves. The party headed off the Mulberry, a small farming village close to the caves, to investigate the mysterious deaths in the area.
